There might be some more eventually, but here's what I noticed while testing the game.

- New loading screen at the beginning.

- Support for translation packs.

- Truetype Fonts support. (that was not in my version, but I know it's in the game now)

- Ability to control Graham with the cursor keys.

- A very rare easter egg is a teensy bit less rare. (but still rare enough to make you miss it if you don't know about it)

- Improved inventory window. You can scroll through it now and there's a hand icon inside there.

- The new voicepack will be using compressed format, thus its size is only about 4 MB.

- The game itself will likely be slightly smaller too because certain sound effects were also re-inserted in MP3-format. (witch cackle, ogre roar etc.)

That's all I can think of for now.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/nashg ...

Hmmm... Does the color of the loading/saving screen and the "guess the gnome's name" will change ? The color was grey KQ1 while in KQ2, all the window were the same color than the inventory screen, the option screen... (Orange).

Does there is any plan to add a window like the "Guess the gnome's name" for the magic bowl ?

I believe those screens are orange in version 3.0 indeed. The inventory (which was kinda awkward in KQ1VGA) is the same one as the one used in KQ2+. I don't think there are any plans for an input-window with the bowl.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashl ...

Bowl

They should add a talking option in inventory too. That's work for the bowl.

It will come when it's ready, I don't care what the release date is, it will come when it comes.
The Knight

Ever since the deal with KQ2+, we decided not ever to give out release dates again.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashc ...

Trust me, most of the timw its worst to have a exact release date(i.e. May 15 2003(Anyone know what happen on this date?)), because if it gets delayed, since you were all ready for it and you have to wait some more. In my opinion, I like it without a release date.
The Knight

I agree with the Knight there, it's better not to have one, no matter how much I WANT one. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

As for May 15th 2003, Nibiru ain't comin' this year. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
"Could I be less alive?"

<ENTER LORD SLOTH>

I've replayed KQ1VGA and, for what it's worth, I thought I'd give some feedback about the sort of stuff I'd love to see for version 3.0:

- Sir Graham really needs to go to a full kneel when he greets Edward the Benevolent. It looks really uncomfortable the way he stoops down now, and it would just be one more animation frame, wouldn't it?

- The scripting of the witch attacking from her broom and of Graham ducking could be cleaned up a bit.

- The ducking itself could be redone to look like a duck (i.e.: throwing himself on the ground, covering his head), but that may be a bit much for a version update.

- More leeway when climbing the beanstalk's last few meters

- Something that was omitted from the transfer from ega to vga, when you leave the gnome without guessing his name, he comments about how he hopes you will come back, he doesn't get many visitors thanks to that annoying troll. I don't know if you'd go so far as to bring back the voice actor, but it would be nice.

- The speed of the swimming is slower then the more normal walking speed, it would be better IMO not to have to move the scroller whenever I jump in the well. This is a problem in KQ2+ as well, though perhaps most people prefer to walk at high speeds.

- The goat sprite doesn't walk facing toward or away from the screen unless he walks directly vertical.

- I think we could survive without the dwarf taking our magic mirror/chest in the mountain catacombs, unless this is meant to be exactly like the original game.

- How bout some visual hint that the dragon is breathing, if only having the smoke from his/her nose disappear in sync with the sound effect. Would look very cool me thinks

- And why not a totally revamped plot, history and some character motivation thrown in there, if you have time that is.
I is just kidding on that one, for now anyways.

Apologies if you have already thought of all this, or you think it's a waist of time. Just thought you'd like some feedback.

<EXIT LORD SLOTH> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

<ENTER LORD SLOTH>
Even though this topic is gathering dust, I thought I'd add that the save game funtion is a bit wonky. Sometimes the newest save games will go straight to the bottom of the list where it takes 10 seconds to get to. It's a FACT.
<EXIT LORD SLOTH>

Hmm.. Erpy?

I'm curious which, if any, of <Lord Sloth's> suggestions have been implemented into KQ1VGA 3.0?

I remember seeing you mention the beanstalk thing on another thread, but I suppose that could be a coincidence.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... eAvatar at: 4/21/03 8:30:50 pm
