kq collections

#1 Post by RukhOfShadows » Tue Nov 26, 2002 11:34 pm

Does anyone have kq collection one or the uber rare #2? I have seen these sell online for a lot of money.

I have both the King's Quest Collection AND the Roberta Williams Anthology. The KQ Col contains the first seven KQ games and a few extra things. The RW Anth contains the 1st 7 KQs, LB 1 and 2, all the early graphical adventures and a few interviews with RW.
http://www.agagames.com

AGA you mention the ones with the opening front flap, right? There is also the previous KQ collection with the stylized logo on the front and KQ1-6 inside, which is what I have (OK, it's really my Dad's from way back when). this is when other series were also released like this such as SQ, with the plain colored, regular-opening boxes and stylized logos on the front. i guess there may be other KQ collection too!

Hmm, maybe it didn't include KQ7 then, because I had the logo one, not the opening flap one... My memory's hazy because I lent the collection to someone about a year ago and haven't seen it since...
http://www.agagames.com

I have the first one (I think) - or at least the German edition of it. Just Kq 1-6. With a couple of minor add-ons. But no other adventure games.
(But I'm certainly not selling it!)

<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="mintcream", strength=#+15)> Lira Lindriel - - - - - - - Magic is real - unless defined integer!

Backyard Discussions ~x~ Lira's Duchy ~x~ My poems, stories and tags

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... driel>Lira Lindriel at: 12/8/02 10:15:51 pm

Well collections are all nice and good. About the only original adventure Sierra product I have is KQ7, KQ:MOE, SQ7, QFG5, and QFG Anthology 1-4 plus QFG5 Demo/Soundtrack CD!! Plus LSL1 and PQ4 "sierra originals" CDs.

But I have almost ALL the other Sierra games in one form or another (a bunch of kq / sq are my dad's, etc). But what you miss from the anthologies is the extra documents and cool stuff many of the original Sierra games come with. And I know there's very little chance of getting that anymore, so...

What I'm really interested to find is a good version of the guidebooks for KQ, SQ, and QFG series. I'm not a big fan of online retailers or eBay though since 1) I live in Canada and 2) I don't have a credit card nor do I really want to get one.

Problem number 2 popped up for me as well. Not to mention the fact that people are even less willing to ship to the Netherlands than they are to Canada.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashb ...

That's true! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
*considers what games she has got the original of*
Kq1-8, QfG2,5, GK3 - and that's about it for Sierra games. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o"> By the time I really discovered them and wanted to play them all, those that I wanted weren't really available anymore. So I made do with illegal copies for most of the others. I'm not happy with it but if Sierra is not willing to sell them, too bad for them. And if Sierra brought out anthologies again, I'd probably buy them.

<td nowrap style=filter:glow(color="mintcream", strength=#+15)> Lira Lindriel - - - - - - - Magic is real - unless defined integer!

Backyard Discussions ~x~ Lira's Duchy ~x~ My poems, stories and tags

As with all the games since KQ2 AGI, I've been a die-hard Sierra collector. All the original releases, with all those neat in-box items. I've also collected the Sierra Newsletter/Magazine/Interaction periodicals since day one. I sent a lot of the old issues of these newsletters to a Quest Studios member, who has scanned them, and has made them available on-line, in archival quality. I still cherish my Leisure Suit Larry cocktail napkin, that came with the original AGI release of Leisure Suit Larry In The Land Of The Lounge Lizards.

Well Tom you're one of the lucky ones who's somewhat older than most of us...

I would definitely buy some of the games I don't have if Sierra released collections again... but I would hope for some extras such as also including, reprinting all the extra-type documents (Space Quest Space Piston, for example).

Tom, I'm curious, were there any extras of this type for QFG or KQ series?

My dad gave me his collection of the interaction magazines which I cherish greatly (starting from the cover with the line-up (just before the name change) and, missing a bunch of issues in between, going until early 1998 ), and I nicked a few other things off him (wonder if he'll notice) such as the Space Quest II comic, SQ4 SP, and the KQ1-6 collection book (the nice one with the fictional stories written for 1-6 (but no pictures <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> )). I also have the SQ1 3-set comic, a great item <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Where is this online archive please?!

I've got the collection Relight has.

I *ALMOST* bought the same collectiom type (With the stylized logo) for Space Quest, but then realised that it didn't have the Space Quest 4 Talkie version in it (Am I the only one to use that term anymore?). So I got King's Quest instead.

I also have the PQ collection, the one with PQ 1-4 and Swat, The Larry collection, the one with LSL 1-6 (6 being the "Rare" Non-Talkie version... *GRRRRRR*).

Okay, so maybe Larry 4 wasn't in the collection, lol.

This message brought to you by BTails

I have both all "single" orginals of KQ 1 - KQ5, and KQ 8 plus the collection from Sierra (KQ1-KQ7). All in their original packings with all dics (diskettes) and docs.

Not selling, not for a million $$$ <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... yPoster at: 12/22/02 2:04:44 am

Then there's the "roberta williams" anthology, which has kq1-7 plus some of roberta's other stuff. an interesting collection for sure... correct me if i'm wrong, but does it have NO intro at all for KQ6? (going back to my other posting on the different kq6 intros). i only have a copy of disc 1 of that, so i don't know if i have a proper copy (but i think so, 'cause it's packed full) and i don't know if there's more than 1 disc that might have the kq6 intro on another disc.
