If you found Possum, then head for the swamp. If you haven't found Possum, look around for her near the southern part of the land. If you can't find Possum, then try helping out another who needs it. Someone who is hiding outside the wall of the city. No, you only need to help the hay guy once. But Possum won't appear until you help him. This is just to prevent a dead end situation, i.e. you wouldn't have the gift from the hay man until it was too late to go back and get it. So make sure you helped Possum, then you head for the swamp. One thing that seems to confuse a lot of people is the first screen in the swamp. The first direction in the note is always south, because the first screen that counts, you can only go south. It is the first screen after passing through the trees. The way north is blocked by trees and east is blocked by swamp water, west would just take you out of the swamp. Use that screen as your first screen and go south as per the directions. Also after following the directions, you won't be at the castle, but you can see the castle in the background.
