Savour those KQ2 moments

#1 Post by dosuser » Mon Feb 03, 2003 12:38 am

Ever wanted to see how quickly you can complete KQ2:RTS? Or perhaps you want to let everyone else see your great victory against Hagatha?

KQ2+ v1.1 has an unofficial feature for recording replays - you may have noticed this mentioned in the Advanced portion of the Setup program. When you're in the game, press Alt+R, and you'll see "REC" appear in the corner of the screen. From now on, everything you do is being recorded. The recording will end when you press Alt+R again or quit the game.

Now, you want to play it back? Simply go into the Game Options menu, click Advanced, and select the replay file from the drop-down list. Run the game, and you'll be able to watch your actions played back to you. At any time, you can press ESC to stop the replay and take over control of the game manually.

If you're interested, give it a go. It's not officially supported - but it might give you fun for 5 minutes. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

The only constraint is that the replay must be played back at the same screen resolution as it was recorded - so please don't record any at 960x600 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... dosuser at: 2/2/03 6:40:30 pm

I decided not to mention it until Tierra released their walkthrough, as it could be used to create an interactive walkthrough of sorts <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Right, I can create a file in which everybody could see me playing, and it could be as a live walkthrough or something <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> But I dont think people here would like it so much if I'll ask money for such a file and put in on Ebay...

Weird! I was just thinking about this but didn't know you could do it. Hmmm...

No you can't. But you could make a replay, and then use a video card to output to video or something. It obviously works somehow by coding all the player does to a file, then AGS follows it like a script when the game is run.

I haven't got a videocard. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> . But I could get my video camera and record my computer screen. J/k
But it's good to know that. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
<img src="http:// src="http://www.webdeveloper.com/animations/ ... /duck1.gif" width="120" height=&quot"/>
