I took the liberty to download AGS to see this feature for myself. It was different than I thought it was. I thought it was simply anti aliasing the outlines of the sprites so that they would blend in with the backgrounds a bit more. This was different than what I was expecting. He blurs the entire image. Not that this is bad, but the process is quite a bit easier this way. I believe, if it's 32 or 16 bit color, it is possible to set DirectX to automatically do this for you!
