Are points different in version 2

#1 Post by timosity » Thu Apr 03, 2003 6:58 pm

I noticed at the point when it happened, that when you kill the wolves you don't get the point you got in version 1.

So I restored and tried avoiding them and didn't get the point either.

I went back and killed them again, and when I reached the end of the game I got 184/185

Is this a bug or did you change the way points are achieved, Just curious.

As mentioned in the readme and changes list, there's a non-violent way to avoid getting killed at the crossroads. It may be a bit obscure though, so good luck finding it.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

Stumped

#3 Post by timosity » Thu Apr 03, 2003 8:42 pm

This seems to be the only noticeable change, and I'm really stumped, I've used everything in my possession on the wolves and myself and no result.

Is there a new item to collect or something, this must be pretty obscure, I've even tried talking to myself and the wolves, you also can't pat them.

Is there a hint that could lead me in the right direction, I only played the game again to hear the voices and now, there's just 1 thing I need to know.

There's an extra item for use against wolves. Unfortunately, I don't believe there's a real clue about its existence, but you could ask yourself who would have a reason to worry against wolves.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nasht ...

Found it - spoilers

#5 Post by timosity » Fri Apr 04, 2003 3:24 pm

***spoilers

I figured it out, but I thought it was quite a strange thing to do, The've replaced killing animals with Break and enter as well as robbing a dead person, If it was changed for moralistic reasons, the've just replaced bad with bad,

But I suppose you also dig up 2 graves and don't replace the dirt, digging them up is bad enough, but not replacing the dirt that's just criminal.

But enough with the jokes, it was a good little thing that will be hard for people to figure out,

I guess people will only notice this if they are playing for points.

Under normal circumstances, we wouldn't put obscure things like these in, but this is an optional path and not needed to finish the game. (perfectionists are gonna check out every pixel anyway)

***spoilers

And about the robbing...the place has been abandoned and will likely stay that way. Besides: adventurers are kleptomaniacs, usually collecting everything that isn't nailed down and legitimate ownership be damned.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b">

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... ms>Erpy at: 4/4/03 9:32:52 am

After she's gone. Search the place carefully.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nasht ...

No.

Now, killing the wolves does not give a point but the new alternate solution does.

It's...

Be sure that you're trying to find it after Grandma has left. Once she's gone (and the house is vacant), then you can search. I'll tell you that the item is in a very small and fragile glass vial, so it would need to be in a well-protected place. Try looking somewhere soft and "cushiony". <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

~Wolfgang

Note that you can only pick this up BEFORE getting the tiara. It'll no longer be there after you get back from the church.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...

Chairs are cushiony (is that even a word or did I just make it up? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> ). Beds are, too...so are some things on top of the bed...

~Wolfgang
