Score of 180 of 185 Kq2VGA

#1 Post by Fender178 » Sun Apr 13, 2003 2:50 am

I have just beaten the game today and i only ended up with 180 of 185 its with the note that was underneath the nighengail's cage. I dont know where the missing 5pts are I did every thing the walkthough said to do and I even beat the wolves the new way as mention in the kq2 readme.txt file.

Did you read all five library books that the librarian showed you? You could also miss out on one point by not reading the monk's diary (that's a different book than the Bible).

~Wolfgang

The earings which I think are in a log are also easy to miss. I wouldn't know for sure, because I never find them (I finished 184 of 185).
"Lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot; do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime"

Yeah, what Vildern said. After you return from rescuing Valanice, there is one last object you can get, and I think it is worth two points.

If that isn't it, did you choose the best way to get past the lion? Hint, it is not the same as it was in the original. This put me two points short the first few times I played it as well.

"May the way of the hero
lead to the Triforce."

This is probably stupid, but did you do BOTH the pumpkin quests? That's easy to miss.

----------
Sponge Factory

C'mon, Erpy. If you've got a walkthrough online, we should get a point list, too. All the Sierra hintbooks have one. It'd be the proper thing to do. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
_______________
Ian Watson
WolfSpoor

Yeah. There already is a pointlist, silly.

----------
Sponge Factory

I hang my head in shame.

Last time I looked, which was admittedly a while ago, there wasn't one.

...and I'm the one who usually quietly rants when someone doesn't follow siply check-before-you-post forum protocol. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o">

_______________
Ian Watson
WolfSpoor

I am positive that there has been a point list as long as there has been an official walkthrough.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

Probably.

But I only saw the link at the bottom of the KQ2 page that said "King's Quest 2 VGA Walkthrough and FAQ (by Erpy)". It never occurred to me that there would also be a point list in there.
_______________
Ian Watson
WolfSpoor

I wrote just about everything I knew about the game in there. And that included a point list, although it's not a classic point list as you would expect it, but more a straight solution with the points written next to the actions.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

I have just finished the game with full points (185 of 185) thanks to Erpy's point list.

A bit off topic, but about points and point lists:

In The Black Cauldron, has anyone ever gotten full points? I've played that game an hojillion ( <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ) times and I have the full points list, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get all 230 points. There are enough points techincally available in the game, but some of them are mutually exclusive. Was this an oversight on Sierra's part, or have I missed something all these years? I think the highest I've ever gotten is 227.
--------------------
Art: http://www.the-labyrinth.f2s.com
Science: http://www.zero-factorial.com
