Intro & Kolyma layout
Okay, I downloaded KQ2 and installed it a couple days ago.

First off, I'd say the download was worth it for the intro alone. I mean, holy crap, I wasn't expecting that, especially for a fan-made game. The Magic Mirror sequence was simply incredible..

Anyway, it's been a long time since I've played KQ2, but I was amazed in that absolutely none of it is familiar. I mean, at least I recognized the Daventry layout in KQ1, and a lot of the side quests and the general storyline. But it's suddenly like I'm playing a completely new game.. some extra KQ game snuck into the series. I'm just surprised that I forgot absolutely everything, except to remember to always look inside tree stumps and logs.

So I was wondering if the remake was as close to the original as KQ1 VGA was to its. It even seems like there should be a sapphire brooch under some log or something, along with a bunch of other sapphire jewelry, but all I've found are the earrings and been given the opal. Maybe I haven't found everything yet, but hell, I don't even remember the town, much less the library and antique shop.

Anyway. Just curious as to how bad my memory's gotten.

In certain cases, it's even better to forget what you've learned in KQ2, since KQ2+ might have an entirely different solution.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...

Aye.
It's not your memory that's failing you. While KQ1VGA was a 1:1 remake, KQ2VGA is so much more <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> . Almost all items and characters from the original are included in some form, but it's not all the same.

Eeeeeeexcellent.
So really.. it's like getting a whole new game, stuck somewhere in the KQ series with all the trimmings of the series' Golden Age.

Well, that's awesome. Thanks for that.
