Help!! Stuck after solving 2nd pumpkin Quest

Hi Guys,<br><br>I've been trying to complete the game using erpy's walkthrough. Having completed the 2nd pumpkin's quest, and traded pearl for comb, I tried to find the mermaid but she wasn't there on the stones along the beach.<br><br>I'm stuck, now looking around for quests to complete. Couldn't access the first gem since the mermaid wasn't there.<br><br>Now in my inventory, I have:<br>sword, net, stake, flower, feather, mallet, signed lib. card, brooch, candle, earring, comb.<br><br>What to do next? please help....I'm stuck wondering around Daventry... <p></p><i></i>

couldn't do anything in the town, nothing on the eastern hill, grandma house etc...<br>What to do next??<br><br>Could this be a bug? <p></p><i></i>

And you've spoken with the Door of Destiny? The comb should be all you need for the mermaid, in fact IIRC she appears as soon as you've spoken with the Door of Destiny the first time.<br><br>~Wolfgang <p></p><i></i>

oh I got it, finally able to speak to door destiny. Thank you, wolfgang.<br><br>Initially, I was trying to 'talk' and 'do' with the door of destiny. Didn't try 'looking' at it.<br><br>Haha.. sorry for this silly mistake. Thank you again wolfgang. <p></p><i></i>

I am having a simular problem but....I have all the items as well, including the comb, and have spoke to the Door of Destiny and the mermaid is a no show. This is my second time around playing the game (going for max points this time) so I know where she is suppose to be. I even went back to the door of destiny and library to read the book again, went back, she is not there. I am sure I have entered and re-entered that particular scene at least 50 times now but like I said, she is a no show. So, like Teddy, I have the final question as well, is this a bug? anyone else expericened this?

You did enter the screen north of the pier and west of the cottage, right? In the original, she was in another place.

yup...that is the area I was going to. I never played the original but played this version once before and was re-playing for maximum points this time around... any how, I started the game over and she was there this time...must have been some kind of glitch or something....it was really strange.
