Spelling error and slight movement bug.

#1 Post by MTKnight » Sun Dec 08, 2002 8:41 am

When you click the hand on the statue in town, there's a spelling error in the message. "to" should be "too".
And, in the screen south of the town gates (with the big tree where the mallet is), Graham walks over the bottom part of a tree over in the extreme right. Not a big deal, but it's a little unsightly.

hehe.. I actually noticed that tree walking bug *just* after I compiled and uploaded the final version. Doh! I was wondering if anyone else would ever spot it:)

Are you sure about that "too" spelling. I always thought you could use 'too' in 2 instances:

1/ Meaning "excessive" i.e. He has too much money
2/ Meaning "as well" i.e He has other bank accounts too.

But in the above case, "It looks to have been placed here quite a number of years ago." ...isn't "to" the correct way of spelling it? Argghh there's too many too's, to's and two's!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... >Anonymous Game Creator 2 at: 12/8/02 5:44:27 am

You've got the wrong message with the word "to". The one you mentioned is correct.

As MTKnight said, it's when you click on the statue with the hand, not the eye! A message appears that "the townsfolk would be none to pleased..."

It should be "none too pleased". <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Here's another one. In the finale, when someone says they will "sew" a spell; I believe the intended meaning was the word "sow". The only time I can think of where sewing and spellcasting are related is in the tale of Sleeping Beauty. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Too: Ah, I had already changed this one. That's why I thought he meant the other one.

Sew/Sow: Oh, yes, you're right. Fixed it.

I meant "sew" as in "weave", not "sow" as in "plant something".

You've probably already noticed/fixed these, but:

In Hagatha's cave, when you first enter the screen, one of the messages that pops up says "The light from outside barely pentrates the interior of this cave." rather than penetrates.

On the QFG2VGA plug, once Graham has picked up the scroll after the Hero has departed, it says "As you read the writing, the words are ingrained in your mind. The scroll dissapears." instead of disappears.

Finally, in the Tower Realm, when you're one screen south of the entrance to the tower, if you LOOK at the tower, it says "This it it! The very same tower...etc." rather than "This is it".

Just in case you hadn't yet found them! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

~Wolfgang

(I don't want to make a new thread for just this <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ).

If you click the gold ring on Hagatha at the end, the wrong your is used.

There's an extra comma when clicking inventory things on random grey fish.

When talking to yourself, maybe "meet your acquaintance" should be "make your acquaintance."
