Possum double

#1 Post by Copycat » Fri Dec 27, 2002 3:28 am

This is not exactly a glitch but an impossible situation, unless there are two seperate Possums in this game.

First, after I have given her what she wants, she keeps wandering around trying to find that item. Then, while she is still wandering, she's suddenly doubled and the double is crying in a complete other screen. Then, while she is asleep in grandma's house, she's still marching around. And to top it up, even after she's been vampirized (?sp) and aged, the original Possum keeps searching for her lost item (which I already gave her long ago). <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Jeez, what version? I wouldn't know. All I know is I have no problem with savegames and I'm guessing that's a known bug in version 1.0 so I suppose I'm running 1.1. My most recent non-savegame dates 29/11/2002, if that's any indication. Most recent (zipped) savegame is on its way.

I'm also going to send you another savegame I've just made. I'm now with Possum near the flowers, and I also just heard her sobbing all across the map. And no way could she have outrun me from one place to the other. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Just curious - but does this happen each time you play the game? Or did it seem to be a rare freak occurance?

Example: If you start a new game right now, talk to Possum, get the basket and return it to her, she will walk south. Then, if you exit and re-enter the screen, is she still there? Could you please test this out a couple of times and let me know if it occurs again?

So what actually happened in the first place, when you gave the basket to Possum? Did she walk south - and if so, then how did she re-appear in the screen again?

Ok, I just had the chance to check this out and yes, I see what you mean.

You were running v1.0 (the old version) which is strange, since this bug has never occured for anyone else. Also, is there any particular reason that you were running the game at 640x400 mode? Generally, 320x200 mode is recommened, as it's the only mode we've done extensive beta testing in. The higher resolutions are not really supported. We only recommend playing in 640x400 mode if you can't get the game to run at 320x200 or 320x240 at all.

If you can do so, I recommend downloading the 1.1 patch from the main KQ2 downloads page at www.tierragames.com and updating to the latest version of the game. That should hopefully solve this problem.
