Digital Music Pack Not Working?

#1 Post by Polyethylene » Thu Sep 11, 2003 6:28 am

Hi,

I have KQ2VGA v2.0 with 320x200 res and both speech and music installed. I run the game with the check under "use digital music if available".

I hear the music for the Tierra icon and even for the main menu. But once I start the game at the dock, I hear maybe a faint crashing of waves (i assume that's sound effects), but as I run around the map, I hear no music. Is this intended?

If it is intended, what part of the map do I need to go to test if my music works? All my sound control sliders in windows are all the way up.

Thanks.

There's not music on every screen. The town is one easily-accessible area that does have background music.

I'd say... Download the other version of the music pack.

Actually, there is only one version of the music pack.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashb ...

Oh really? I thought there was a digital one and a mp3 one, and I thought there are differences between those... Digital is more likely a *.cpm file or *.daf file. Mp3 is just a compressed version of the *.cda or *.wav file: it's doesn't contain some small details. If there, indeed, in only one pack, some information on the QuestStudios site is erronious.

MP3 is digital, although the current music pack uses the better Ogg Vorbis compression. What kind of info on Queststudios would you be referring to, btw?

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashu ...
