Moonlit,
That screen looks great!!!!! You're amazingly talented! Your picture has so much detail - and people will probably say that to shrink it down is a crime, but to fit the VGA look of Sierra, loss of detail happens. It must have been like that back in the day - to look at an original painting of a background, and compare it to it's scanned version...... well, he's a Bt VGA overhaul of your pic.

JLM, great paintover of the Vine/Berry bush scene. I like it a lot!
And yes, Klitos is right - we are just drawing pretty pictures. That's it for now. And if anyone needs original AGI pics, let me know. I'm the man who knows a guy that knew a girl who dated the guy who has all of them.
Bt

Thanks everyone for the link to agidev studio. This will help me a lot.
Thanks BT for the nice comments, very encouraging.
Great work rog, animations are a lot of work by themselves, having a (maybe partial) set of backgrounds and animations will increase the chance another group of people might someday decide to do a remake.
Regards, Ron AF Greve.

Well, since this thread is about learning how to make better background art, I thought I'd comment that personally, I think Bt that your resizing / whatever makes pictures too blurry. Sierra backgrounds were never that blurry. They had a good mixture between crispness and bluriness. Definitely part of their look was that they were dealing with a limited palette, and that the backgrounds were resized paintings. I certainly echo your comment about how they must have looked at their painted picture and compared it to the screenshot and yeah!

Another outdoor scene
Hi veryone,
Since I have quite some spare time this month; here's another one.

Sacled down version

I am now going to work on the following pic. Unlikely that I manage to finish it today, so it probably will be next weekend.

I didn't make the graphics with AGI dev studio so I don't know if it is easy (and not even sure if it is possible). However if it is, you get low quality graphics like in sq2 (if you don't want to spend time to learn to draw that might actually what you want :-) ).
I used agidev studio to extract the backgrounds for sq2.
I myself use "The Gimp" to create the graphics voor sq2, which is reasonably straightforward but as with any graphics program you have to spend some time to learn it.

Hello all,
I follow this forum for a few years now and played the great remake games of AGDI. I placed a few reply's but mostly I read them. I was remaking one of the pictures of SQ2 myself. I was just praticing my drawing skills. Then I saw this post about SQ2 picture remake. Here is my style of the remake.

I hope the picture is working because it is also my first picture on this forum.
