I used to play hockey.   Then I visited Canada, and I realized that I merely skated aimless around a rink, chasing a puck - while THEY played hockey.

Sigh.

The halftime show this year certainly had more of a family feel than last year's Superbowl.   ;)

You kiddin' me? They got the absolute safest guy they could for the halftime show this year. What do you do to recover from scandal? Put someone with a lily white approval record by conservative Christian Americans on there. Regardless of the stuff he's done in the past, Paul McCartney is as family friendly as Elmo. Still, though, at least it was someone I wanted to see play this year as opposed to the other years.

i actually live in jacksonville.  i watched it but im not really a big fan.  It was sweet to see all the celeberties here. i saw robin willams eating lunch at Angie's subs, and it doesn't matter how "safe" the half time show was it was still sweet

Isn't it amazing how Paul McCartney is "safe" now?  The Beatles were once the biggest threat to America, with their long hair and rock music.  They were rebels that would corrupt America's youth.

Show how paranoid and wrong most of the "right" of the world is.  Their paranoyia and twisted sense of self-important morals will sink them.

On one of their albums, right before one of the the songs, if you turn the volume up really really loudly and listen very carefully, you can hear Paul McCartney and John Lennon taking a hit of some unnamed drug and going, "Oh, that's good." Definitely a candid moment there. He went from that to being knighted. What a difference a few decades makes.

And Potato, I know what you mean. I was in Houston (my hometown) last year during the hullabaloo. It was awesome.
