The Mermaid

I'm at the part (or so I think) where the mermaid should appear on the beach to take me to what, the Sharkee lair? But yeah, I can't find her. Is there a specific spot I need to wait for her, or should she already be there? I've checked out Erpy's guide for the game, but it doesn't help me. Can anyone think of something that I could be missing?

Have you talked to the door of destiny? Have you dealt with the merchant in town? My memory's rather hazy, but I believe she's supposed to appear west of Hagatha's cave.

She actually appears west of Grandma's house.

Yes.. well.. (Oh, I hope this doesn't count as a double post...) Turns out I hadn't talked to the Door yet... although I was sure I had. Something about having to restart my game 3 times messed me up good. So I'm good now. Thankya for the help!
