Just wandering where are you from and How old are you? Was QFG targeted to a specific country, language, age?

Here I am. 27 years old. Raised in Argentina. Living in Washington DC.

Anyone?

I'm 23, born and raised in Illinois, USA.

I think the QFG games were pretty universal in their appeal and target audiences. Since Sierra was based in the US, it's probably safe to assume that the games were originally geared towards a Western audience, but like I said, they have pretty universal appeal. As far as an age range? Well, I played these games as a kid and still enjoy them thoroughly as an adult, and not just for the nostalgia, so I'd say they're pretty universal there, too, though I think today's generation of young gamers might not have the same patience for these types of games as we did/do.

Never played translated games...not only were the Netherlands usually too small a target area, but since we only ever watch subtitled movies (only kiddies movies get dubbed) translated games sometimes do less well than their original counterpart.

First got QFG as a kid, but I only ever played the VGA remake. I later got the rest through certain sources and loved them since.

Nice. Originally I'm from Peoria, did my undergrad at U of I in Champaign/Urbana, and am now living and going to grad school in Dekalb at NIU--so I'm in and out of the Chicagoland area quite often.

In the late 80's these games didn't really sell in Mexico, I knew most series from pirated copies that some friends had. So I had to wait anxiously for someone (mainly my dad) to go to the USA and then I could ask him to buy as many games as money allowed. Ah, the good old days.

Uh... I'm 30, and live in Northern California.

For me... the heyday of these games was between 1985 and 1990. I bought every single game sierra released during that time.

We had about 4-5 people from South Africa at Hero6. There's quite a big following of adventure games (from our age group) over here. There's quite a few on this board as well, but I haven't seen them in a while.

Sorry to say I don't know a Tumi.

First QFG I played was the VGA remake of the first, on loan from a friend. Didn't take me too long to realize I was going to buy the collection.

(Ah, the days when it was available new from a store, and not on eBay for $100...)

Still 23 from Illinois, USA.

First Sierra game...hmmm, you know I can't exactly remember at this point. I'm going to say it was KQ5, because that seems right, but it may have been SQ4... All I know is that I got the KQ collection (1-6) as a kid and it cost something like 75 bucks. The Space Quest games on the other hand, I picked up one by one, and then eventually got the collection because I could never find SQ3 (and I didn't yet have SQ6.) Man, I'm getting all nostalgic again! :D

Though I'll confess that it was Lucasfilm games that got me to fall in love with the genre (and I was like 5 years old at the time.) I didn't get into the Sierra ones till I was around 8 or so.

Actually, upon some reflection, my first Sierra game was KQ4, which I played religiously every time my mom dropped me off at her friend's house to be babysat. hahaha. The first one I owned though, I'm almost positive was KQ5.
