Just keep walking around until he gets tired and takes a nap. If you're having trouble avoiding the big guy you could try to wear the magic ring so he won't see you, but I always keep avoiding him without a ring. More fun that way. <p></p><i></i>

To avoid the giant without using the ring, go to the scene where the giant is chasing you, then go one screen west. Go up as you can on that screen, being careful not to fall down into the clouds. Go east. <br><br>The giant will already be in the direction that you first arrived. Go to the middle tree. The giant will follow you. Play chasey around the tree, making sure that the giant doesn't catch you. Eventually, he will fall asleep. <br><br>This was the tactic I used to make the giant fall asleep.
