Trying to run KQ1 VGA

I'm attempting to run KQ1 VGA on Windows XP within Virtual PC for the Mac. usually it (Virtual PC) works pretty well, although sometimes it gets a bit cranky with stuff that makes resolution changes. Generally, though, it works just as a regular PC would and tech problems don't extend beyond that sphere. Anyway...<br><br>The first time I started it, it complained that it wasn't able to switch resolutions. I don't believe I actually changed any settings (Win XP or KQ) before I tried running it again to check exactly what the error message said, but when I ran it a second time, instead I got a message about the sound. I ran the "menu" program, attempted to change to the "WaveOut" option as the FAQ said, but the "WaveOut" option wasn't displayed, only the "DirectSound." On a whim I ran it again, this time I got the resolution message again. I went back to the menus and changed to 640x400, and this time when I ran it, it crashed and the system rebooted.<br><br>Can anyone help me? I believe Virtual PC doesn't support DirectX very well, if at all. I doubt that, Erpy--DirectX is core software in Windows--they would have to make sure it works properly. But then, I haven't tried running a Windows XP virtual machine for very long. I'd try and reproduce the problems you're having, Twinkie, but I'm assuming that you're running from a Mac, if you're runing a WinXP virtual machine--those are largely just for testing if you're running a PC. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> I'd suggest running a DOS virtual machine. I got the game in PC version <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Harry Potter and the chamber of secret</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> in my birthday and I can only play this game with directx 8.0 because it does not support any kind of Voodoo chipset like I have because <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Directx</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> does not support any longer for that chipset.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> I just read about it in the <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Readme.txt</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> that was included with that game. If that is true that voodoo can no longer support for directx I really have to get a new 3D video card. So I must be lucky that kq2vga does not have any 3D to support unless that 3d video movie clip in the intro want me to have 3d video card. Ok I am sorry Erpy I was just talking about my Directx problems with those new games. But I will replace this message then in Off (with you) forums he he.<br><br>On last question how can I change my username.<br><br>My usual username in Iceland is fvs It just stand for my real name. Fribbi is just too old username for me now. I just thought it could be used in english too but fvs will do fine now for me. And if AGD1 don´t mind, will it be ok to change that old rank title name from "fan´s fan" to "Icelandic Tierra visitor nr.1" because I have never notice anybody here from my land? So I guess I am the only one from Iceland who visit you.
