How amazing is this? It’s an AI voice pack mod for SQ5. I know AI is very contentious and rightly so, but what’s you guys opinion on cases like this? The voices sound absolutely great and it’s a joy to hear Gary Owen’s again, or at least a very very good interpretation of him.

What other non-voiced games do you think would do well with this treatment?

I’ll definitely be giving SQ5 a play through with this to fully try it out.

On a personal note, how is everyone? I’m doing great, Katherine “the little miracle” is 20 years old now and at University. I can hardly believe it myself. I’m an old man now!

My other kids with my wife Lisa keep me young though, Lexi is 10 now and we had a baby boy recently-ish, Jamie who is 2.5 years old. So gaming time is hard to come by, but I keep plugging away! Currently been playing FF7 Rebirth for about 3 months and 50 hours in lol.

I think it's disgusting.

It's utterly disrespectful to Gary Owens. It's saying that there's no actual craft or artistry in his voice acting, if just robotically puppeteering his voice is good enough. He didn't consent to this and, since he's dead, he can't even defend himself. And the entire enterprise of genAI serves to devalue art and artists.

That’s a good point. Absolutely no consent even if that were possible. Definitely does raise all sorts of questions.
