You're cutting it close. Will QFGII hit this year?
As a newbie to these forums (though not to internet gaming forums in general) I suppose I can get away with this kind of question, although I'm sure there's a good chance this has been asked before. But first, I'd like to thank the AGD for helping spark my interest in the traditional adventure genre, which now holds a very dear place in my heart, and may be in some way part of my desire to become a game designer. I'm not sure if you can revive the adventure genre en mass, but you certainly influenced me with the two King's Quest games, so thank you.
Now, all along, it has been supposed that Quest for Glory II will be a 2004 release, even before it got a date. You guys have said 2004 all along, but I think it is time to re-confirm. My impression is that your efforts have moved the project past the half way point, but exactly how much past the half way point, I can't tell. Still, I think at this point, you should be able to assert whether the game will actually come out this year.
2004 has already been cut down to size. There is roughly half the year left, or six months. So, the question is, is the remaining work to be done on the game going to be completed within a four month time schedule?
And, just for fun, a couple more speculative questions you can ignore if you like. What percent of the game is done, and which quarter of what year do you expect the game to ship, if you want to get specific.

Like Erpy said, we can't give accurate release dates because we really don't know how much longer it's going to take.
There's still alpha and beta testing to go, both which will take a few months. It's quite possible that the game may not be released this year. But then again, I can't say because we're not close enough to completion to make that estimate yet.
Read the FAQ guys, it's not just there to look pretty; it serves a purpose!

the first version probably willdeltamatrix wrote:This game should come out for xmas. I'm betting it will.
in a few months after that, they'll probably release a polished one (after the players find all the bugs)
at least that's what I figure
even if they don't, no matter, they are doing a good job so it's all swell and jolly ;-)

My, what a service. A fine sample of the period when we still gave release dates, as well as a fine sample of the reason we stopped doing it and all in one post.
There's one thing I wonder about...
Is LF:
a) Behind in the times? (the shot's from version 1.0)
or
b) such an overachieving fan of us that he has every version of each of our games on his computer?

Ooh, can I volunteer for consumer testing?Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Like Erpy said, we can't give accurate release dates because we really don't know how much longer it's going to take.
