Hello! I'd like to announce my secret project Heroine's Quest: The Legend of Fair Spring. I think some of you were under the impression that I was on the Project Katrina team. I left to work on my own project with my own creative control and pace.
Anyways, it is based off the Quest for Glory series except the hero is a heroine, hence the title.
Well, the website can explain it better:
WEBSITE
Demo
HERE. Sorry for the large size. The website has a seperate download for the game and music.
Let me know what you think.
Enjoy!

From the samples I've seen of your work, this project will definitely be something to look out for. Good luck.

Hahaha
You guys really should download the demo, if you haven't done so(with the music pack included, of course). Corby is quite the genius, and well... I do the music.

This game is gonna rock. ROCK, I tells ya!
Oh and check out the forums.

That clothes shop look a LOT like a place in Serenia where a certain Graham of Daventry got a cloak.

Thanks everyone! I guess Project Katrina is still going. We never really got anywhere aside from art.
Demo is definently worth taking a look at.
The tailor shop in the demo looks more like this scene:
I outlined some King's Quest interiors. I'm not good with inside perspectives. The frame gives it a nice King's Quest feel as well.

How is this punny little woman going to fight? I mean the hero had muscles and stuff, but this character is a tooth pick.

You know, skill and a sharp mind will be more useful than muscles
But I agree, she could stay dry while standing under a phoneline when its raining.. I guess thats why the site says:
"Please note, sprites are simply placeholders for now. "

But still, a woman? I dont think it might work out to well, unless its a warrior woman like in QFG3 the black tribe, they at least were not tooth picks. A very interesting concept.

Finesse is more important in a fight than raw muscle. In other words, raw speed is fine as well. Besides, maybe she's a sorceress. Or a rogue.
I'm curious, though - if PK never really got anywhere aside from art, and you were the artist and left to do your own project - then how exactly could PK still be going? I haven't seen much activity on their site lately, can anyone enlighten me?

I guess, but a fighter usually has muscles. It would be cool if her muscles got bigger during the game.

No, she should turn green when her strength hits 150.

Or undergo some other (gradual) transformation that would effectively multiply the amount of sprites needed for the protagonist many times.

Haha never under-estimate a woman! You're acting like the townspeople will act in the game. You'll have to prove them wrong! Anyways, sprites are just placeholders for now till we get a sprite artist, so maybe she'll be less thin.
As for PK, I think only plot is being worked on. I really don't know.

You're still being listed as an artist there, so perhaps you should request a site update.

With 8 plot writers and 1 artist? I dont blame him for not wanting to continue.

True, I should take care of that. Also, they are welcome to any backgrounds that was not carried over to the new project.
Artists are rare, but I agree, more balance was needed at PK.
