Valentines Day Romance
Hey Kids,
I was wondering if anyone here has any plans for a nice romantic something organised for their Valentine?
Sour people without interest in romance need not respond. ;)

Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Poo. I work at a store where we actually have the story of St. Valentine. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it for a couple of weeks. But if I remember correctly, Valentine was jailed for some reason and started tutoring the jailer's daughter. I don't think he fell in love with her, but I could be wrong. You're right about him writing her that letter, though, and he did sign it "from your Valentine."
I'm sure there's more to the story than that, because it's nice and long...but I can't remember the rest.
Plans for Valentine's Day? Don't have any. Don't have that special someone in my life, yet. I DO have a great guy friend, but the possibility of us doing anything together (since we're 500 miles apart and both in school) is extremely improbable.

I know you said: "Sour people without interest in romance need not respond. ;)" But I had to get this off my chest (And no it's not an "anti-love thing). According to one of my teachers, what I'm doing on Valentines Day is writing an in-class essay on why Valentines Day should be banned from the United States. Believe it or not, I have not the foggiest idea on what to write. I don't WANT to write such a thing!
Sorry. I'll edit and delete this if you want.

I'm anxiously waiting for an answer from a girl I just asked out... I only saw her once but we chat constantly on MSN. She said she liked me aswell but wasn't looking for a boyfriend at the moment. I was like... bollocks.
You know I never asked if she had a boyfriend at the time. I hope that ain't why?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, Bromios. If ya'll chat constantly on MSN, then she should've said something by now if she has a bf.
And my former roommate and I are exchanging "like-a-lot" gifts.
Corny, I know, but neither one of us really have Valentines this year (not like I've ever had a Valentine)...

the fun part about valentines day is the stress it can sometimes put on a relationship almost to a breaking point. as for me since something always messes me up in december it usually take untill atleast march for it to blow over. Like it has happened for the past 4 years but lucky me it happened in November this year and I do have some interest in someone I met last night. You never know.
P.S I was talking to her quite a bit last night (around 7 hours) as we were both working late and not having anything to do and we both agreed that Valentines day is the worst day of the year.

Honey, you promised you wouldn't tell anyone about that. I'll forgive you as long as you still tie me up and... oh whoops. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me.Swift wrote:I intend to have a little private online roleplaying session with my boyfriend. We're both looking forward to it.
