Downloading right now. Thanks to all involved!
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Haven't gotten to play much, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia so far. Good job to all.

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Awesome! It's out!
By the way, there are a few errors on the website, specifically this page. In the third paragraph of the "What is King's Quest III Redux?" section it says "King's Quest Ii", and in the "Release History" section it says that the KQIII remake was released "on February XX, 2011" (a similar error appears on the download page, too). Similarly, the last sentence says that it was "released <insert date here>". Also, the Total GUIs section of the statistics list is formatted differently than the rest.
But anyway, I'm glad it's finally out!

One and the same. She was also a voice actor in KQ5.Bobbin Threadbare wrote:Btw, I saw one of the voice cast was Lori Cole. Is this the same person as the creator of QFG series?

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Ha, cool. Was she recruited when the crew visited her in person back before the QfG2 remake's release or was this thanks to something more recent?
Also, if review posts are okay now, can someone put that link back in my post in the "the game looks fantastic" thread now?

I called her some time after that meeting. I didn't get to meet her in person, but it was cool to talk with her over the phone. She's a great lady!

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Originally Corey Cole was going to do a voice too, but we didn't get around to that. I tried to minimize the amount of actors we used who only had access to low-quality recording equipment for this game. In fact, Josh Mandel's microphone was so crummy, that after 4 home recording attempts, he actually had to go into a studio to read his lines for us. When he sent them back, they were too *clear* and made some of the others sound bad. A balancing act if ever there was one!
Anyway, I've added the JustAdventure link back to your previous post, Brainiac (did I spell that right?)

Yes, you did. It's nice to know SOMEONE around here can.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Anyway, I've added the JustAdventure link back to your previous post, Brainiac (did I spell that right?)
<glares at everyone else>
It's amusing that the link has now been revealed rather than being "obscured" by the text I originally gave it (namely, "Speak of the devil..."); in other words, it's been changed twice with no edit notice. I smell an admin conspiracy.

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
wow, I never knew she ever did that. Mind telling me whose cast she's voicing both in KQ5 and this KQ3 ?
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Lori Cole was one of the harpies in KQ5 and played Smaude in KQ3 Redux.

Gwydion's got nothing on we residents of the IA Testing Dungeon.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Ok fixed. (Geez, and I thought Gwydion had it tough!)
According to the KQ Wikia, no - the Harpies were voiced by Nancy Zdenek, Barbara Eicker, Roberta Williams (heh), and Josh Mandel (double heh).Erpy wrote:Lori Cole was one of the harpies in KQ5 and played Smaude in KQ3 Redux.
Now that one is correct.navynuke04 wrote:She was also Queen Icebella in KQ5, wasn't she?
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Cannot wait to download this, great work everyone!
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Wow you did it again. KQ3 Redux looks amazing so far what i've played. I love how it still has the clock on the top of the screen but it changes colors to warn you when Manannan is coming back. The story looks really fleshed out compared to the 1986 version. I loved the IA version of this game as well and even though it was 1:1, I'm trying my best not to compare them. I like how you expanded the town a bit, especially the abandoned library part. Looking forward to see how you take the "Father" story. Thanks again and Good luck with Himlayas studios!

This game is horrible! Very frustrating! 8 years and all you get is horrible stupid puzzles, lost, and crap! Don't download. Waste of time!

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Of course, you weren't actually waiting in anticipation for eight years, right? Unless I'm horribly misinformed, your experience is as follows: You found out one month ago that AGDI was releasing a free game that they had been hard at work on for eight years. So you waited expectantly for one month (Heaven only knows why, since adventure games are evidently so frustrating to you), downloaded it, and found the challenge of not having every puzzle automatically solved for you far too much to handle. Preferring immediate gratification and mindless gameplay over a mental challenge or a puzzle to be solved, you starting ranting about how much you hate this free game that you only had to wait a month for and obtained/played of your own free will and under no compulsion whatsoever.oversight1979 wrote:This game is horrible! Does that about sum it up?

No. Why change everything about a game that we all love and cherish? I understand making it point and click and updating the graphics, but to change everything, like where something is, to add things, like a library, and such? Come on?

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced

Now you're just being obnoxious for obnoxiousness sake. Bye bye. (clicks ban-button)
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
How on EARTH did I predict that you would release this game on my birthday? Thanks for the present, guys. You're the best.

Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Thank you, Erpy! I was very close to doing that myself.
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Supposedly the cloth merchant in QFG3 was also modeled from Lori Cole.navynuke04 wrote:She was also Queen Icebella in KQ5, wasn't she?
Or so I've read.
But it might all be a lie. It might all be the truth.
Re: KQ3 Redux Release Date announced
Okay, I am rather surprised at this. Not that I'm not going to play, I most definitely am!, I'm just a little confused as to why you went ahead and did KQIII at all since Infamous Adventures had already done it. On the other hand, it does give me hope that you may go ahead and take on KQIV so as to finish the set(crosses fingers). Okay, tie to download!
