Hi all! So it's been about a year since I released Game Quest. It's been selling pretty well, which is nice, but I was never comfortable with how much is cost to buy, because of the cost of printing and shipping such a massive book. Anyway, I figured what better candidate for an ebook is there than ...

Hmmm, I'm currently writing an article for classic adventure gaming on the lost potential of the keyboard. Yours is a lot more technical than mine will be, but looks worth reading. A really interesting, and often overlooked subject! I'll keep you updated.

Awesome! I'm so looking forward to this. God I wish I had time to play it RIGHT NOW!

I work as a graphic 'designer' for a print shop. But mostly I'm just a highly trained monkey on an assembly line, doing the same menial tasks over and over and pushing through as many dockets as I can in 8.5 hours. Want to do? Anything else, and as soon as I get some time to myself, I plan to look! ...

Hey, glad you're enjoying it! Nice to know there's some interest in it out there. Actually, that's the biggest difficulty I've had in getting people to try this book. Convincing them that this book is worth reading is really tough. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's the game thing, or it just sound...

Hey cool! I'm really happy it arrived. It's kind of freaky that it takes so long, but they seem to arrive intact. The only one that seems to have gone astray is one to australia, so I'll have to follow up on that. I hope you enjoy the book! Please tell your friends if you do. Thanks again for the or...

Imaginative! Reminds me a bit of those Calvin and Hobbes cartoons where he fights his porridge.

Well, I'm off to the Peg tomorrow! Pretty excited about it. I'll post here how the reading went when I get back.

Wow, that's a pretty wild idea! 10 points for creativity.

I dunno. It would be cool to have giant food! Like to have to sit down to a regular meal, but you're a fraction of the size of the meal.

Doom would be pretty hilarious if you had to SHOOT MONSTER DUCK! SELECT ROCKET FIRE ROCKET AT MONSTER :lol Did anyone ever play typing of the dead? It was house of the dead except you had to spell to kill the monsters. It was pretty fun, but I bought it mostly because it was weird. Don't think it wa...

Hey adventure gaming fiends, I wrote an article over at Adventure Classic Gaming about something I call the Adventuer Gaming Ethic. The Adventure Gaming ethic is, basically, and independent, adventurous spirit I think is implanted (or activated) in the brains of adventure game fans by playing so man...

Wow! That's fast. I admit, I'm such a slow reader! Yeah, if you remember some of the errors, please let me know about them (otherwise it's no help at all!) Pm is better than filling up the board with detail no one else cares about. In the unlikely (but I'm still holding out hope!) occasion that ther...

Hey AWESOME! I'm so happy. See, it's a good thing you harassed me about it, otherwise it might not have showed up! It was beneficial for me, too, because now I know, at least, how long is TOO long, and where to complain if it doesn't show up. I hope it arrived in decent condition? Sorry it took so l...

Ah crap. Stupid Canada Post. I'll look into it and let you know. Thanks for keeping me updated.

Yeah, maybe I liked it because I only stopped for half a day and had low expectations. But where the two rivers meet is really beautiful, and the downtown was nice. Reminded me a lot of Calgary (where I grew up) before it went nuts. But you can't complain it's gonna be boring on May 20th at 4:30pm!!...

Hey, cool! I hope to see you there. I've only been to winnipeg once before. I've driven through it lots and never stopped, thinking it had to be the dullest city in Canada. But last summer I was coming through and I said 'I have to stop.' It's a totally beautiful city. I'm really glad I'm getting a ...

I'll be doing a book reading for Game Quest (www.gamequestnovel.com if you don't know anything about it) on Saturday May the 20th at 4:30 in at McNally Robinson bookstore in Winnipeg, Manitoba (portage place location). If anybody is interested (and doesn't have anything better to do with their May l...

Great. I hope it arrives in good shape.

Quest for Glory Fan, thanks for the compliments! I'll save a copy for you. Good luck with the job hunt. Doing the same myself. It's a pain, isn't it?

It hasn't? Damn. The post office said 6-8 weeks for international delivery, which seems crazy long to me, but then the books I sent to Australia took only a week. It must differ from country to country. I'm really hoping they say 6-8 weeks just to cover their ass and most orders don't actually take ...

It's been a pretty good week! I got another great review for Game Quest: http://www.musea.us/review60.html And <a href="www.audreysbooks.com/">a local bookstore</a>, and a <a href="www.quimbys.com/">bookstore in Chicago</a> both agreed to sell my book. As an independent author, i...

Hey! Deirdra Kiai over at AGS picked up a copy of my book, read it in a couple days and just posted a GREAT review on her blog! So awesome. Anyway, if you want to check it out, it's here: http://www.deirdrakiai.com/2006/03/25/its-a-book-review/ She's also made her own Adventure Game and it's pretty ...

Hey! That's so awesome. Thank you! That wallpaper came out really well. I'm really happy with it. Things are going pretty well with the book. No sales in the past few days, but Just Adventure+ agreed to review it, which is great, and wanted a copy to put into their Adventure Archive! I feel like a p...

Shade: Yes, of course! That's one advantage I have as an independent author. About 90% of the people who buy my books have SOME connection with me, either I've met with them in person, talked with them online, or exchanged an email when they bought the book. You buy a book in a store and the author ...

Vildern,

I got the order from Angelus. That's very kind of him! I have put the package together and will send your signed copy tomorrow morning, since the post office is closed now. I hope you enjoy it! Please tell me when it arrives, so that I won't worry about it.

I hope you enjoy it!

That's a great idea, Angelus3K. Or something less bulky might be better, so that it mails easy. Even just wrapping it in paper so that people can't see through the envelope should be fine. I was all depressed today because when I sent the latest orders off at the post office, they said it was going ...
