Thanks guys (and gals)!!
Katherine Breanna Martin was born 30/10/04 @ 11:35am weighing 8 pounds and 3 ounces.
As mentioned in my previous post, I and Debs mam Eleanor left for the hospital at 5:30am as Deb had been having contractions since 1am and they had just started getting really bad.
We arrived at the hospital as Deb was having a bath to try and soothe the pains she had. We then went into the delivery room and she was given Gas and Air to help with the pains while screams of delivering mothers echoed throughout the corridors.
Hours passed and the contractions grew more painful, but never once did she raise her voice because of the pain, more hours passed Debs was exhausted as was I standing for hours my hand being crushed every couple of minutes!!
More hours passed and Deb was in agony still not shouting or letting a cry of pain escape her...
11:35 am struck the baby was out Deb gave a small shout of OH MY GOD!! then had to turn over and push out the placenta which gushed out a few minutes later.
But there was a problem there was blood everywhere, Deb had been torn by the delivery of the baby and had to be put on a drip and monitored closely, she is fine now and is being kept in with the baby (which is fine) to be monitored.
I am still in a state of shock by the whole thing... for some reason when I first saw the baby it finally kicked in that "Holy Crap! Its a baby" even now I keep getting flash back type feelings along the lines of "Oh my god I have a baby! What the hell do I do???"
Its very scary and very emotional.
Deb and Katherine are fine and are at the the hospital now, I am home trying not to cry (again) and missing them both madly!
I didnt cry when the baby was born, I had to be strong for Deb but afterwards when I went outside to phone my parents I couldnt help it (then again when I ranf my sister.)
I dont know what to do... just be all I can be really a good (future) husband to Deb and a good father for Katherine, I dont know how... I'm still learning how to hold her while supporting her head etc but I can feed and burp her and put her dummy in her mouth to make her quiet lol
I guess I'll get better with experiance, I just want the best for my child and to be there when she and Deb need me.
Well thats enough ranting from me, here's the pics you've all been waiting for, thanks for all your thoughts throughout the 9 months, its whats got us through it.
Thanks
