Question About Well (Possible spoilers)
I have one question concerning the well in KQ1. Wouldn't the people in Daventry know that there's a dragon living under the well? I know it's not easily accessible, but still it's something you think people would know.

And also, King Edward says that these treasures are all long lost. They're in his backyard practically, how come no one else ever came across them?

I think it's because...

...it's a game!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

Seriously, many things about that game don't make much sense...a giant rat guarding a door, an island in the sky, witches flying brooms around the forest, etc. It was meant to be fairytale-esque so I'm guessing that's why many puzzle pieces don't fit. But, yes, a dragon under a well doesn't make much sense either! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

~Wolfgang

Re: Question About Well (Possible spoilers)
The dragon's actually in a normal underground cave of which the second room is blocked by a boulder. The well is just a back entrance.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashm ...

Re: Question About Well (Possible spoilers)
There really aren't many people in Daventry... the only inhabitants is the poor people and all the bad guys... Daventry needs a city <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /alien.gif ALT="0]">

*shrugs*.
You just need a bit of suspension of disbelief <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> .

A lot of things in the game don't make any sense, but it is just an adventure game. Gameplay really comes before realism there.

Lost........................................................
Lost means you don't know where they are. And yes, they are long lost treasures. Because, they've been lost a long time. hence the name.
The Knight

Re: Lost....................................................
Then why add a population to the world of KQII?

Re: Lost....................................................
Because KQ2's world was much more sparse. At least in KQ1, they gave a small storyline, telling you of the king, the lost treasures, etc. and it was more or less meant to be a treasure hunt. There was nobody in KQ1 that was connected to the Black Cloak Society or any large evil villian, just guardians of the treasures. KQ2 had Hagatha, which IIRC only in later games was tied to the Black Cloaks, and she needed some motive for kidnapping Valanice, rather than "just because". Plus since KQ2 was pretty much the start of the whole "family" aspect of KQ (because of Valanice), it should have had a bit more storyline to it. And with regards to the town, well, it didn't make much sense in the original to have an Antique shop and a church in the middle of the woods when there didn't seem to be any inhabitants of the land itself. At least in KQ1 there weren't any random shops and such (who would build a shop where there are no people to be potential customers?) so the lack of populace didn't seem that out-of-place. The fact that Tierra added a town in KQ2VGA brought the whole thing together (along with the other storyline additions which also connected to subsequent KQs).

Yes, it's still just a game, but that doesn't mean every aspect of it has to be inexplicable! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

~Wolfgang

And its a fanasty game. So it shouldn't all be something that could actually happen.
The Knight
