It does in no way need a new thread, Hero. Both of your posts are about the KQ9 site, so I don't see why we need another one to clutter up the forums. The off-topic forum is not, after all, a designated area for posting links to other fan-sites.

I can't really choose one. I like them both for different reasons. The King's Quest games have a little more nostalgic value for me, and sometimes I prefer playing a straight-through adventure game where I don't have to worry about battling monsters, trying to find a place to rest each night, healin...

Happy birthday man!

Though doubtless your most cherished birthday gift arrived a couple of weeks ago, I hope you get everything else you want, too. In all likelihood, most of them are related to computer/video games. Am I right? ;)

No problem, everyone is willing to help out here. (Not to mention it gives me an excuse to raise my post count!) I'd have also been desperately grasping for all the help I could get if what you described had happened to me when first playing the game. Hope you enjoy the rest of it, though I can't th...

Huh.... strange. Try loading a previous save game and doing some of it over.

PS: Are you sure she took the soup? You have to heat it on the cottage hearth before she'll accept it. Just checking.

Talk to her again after giving her the soup. That should prompt a "cinema' scene explaining her late husband's death. At the end of that, you'll automatically get the cloak and ring from her. Remeber to try everything before giving up and running to the forums for help. It's much more satisfyin...

P.S. what's a cudmungeon? A cudmungeon? I've never heard such a word before. Sounds interesting though..... Unless you meant 'curmudgeon', in which case I would suggest you look the word up yourself instead of asking everyone here to accept your laziness. Seriously, there are even free dictionaries...

Vipt, don't assume that you decide which threads to lock unless you started them. It kinda makes you look silly if they don't get locked (correct at time of posting). I'm not sure if you are aware of this, Gav, but let's just say that the post I was responding to at the time did not look like this:...

I agree as well, but I doubt today's video game consumers would give it a second thought. They look to be dazzled by state-of-the-art 3D graphics first, and don't consider gameplay until after they've bought it, which is of course too late. That's why it's important to look at game ratings in magazi...

'Curmudgeon', what a great word! It's one of those words you rarely use, but when you finally do, it packs a punch. It also has some good rhyming qualities: Since I held the curmudgeon in high dudgeon, I would bludgeon him up in my dungeon... with a sturgeon... like a surgeon... Okay, maybe not. Als...

In America, only in the earlier titles was Bowser ever referred to as "King Koopa". He's been known simply as "Bowser" for some time here in the U.S., though I don't know why. "King Koopa" along with "Bowser" sounds good to me, since he is , after all, the kin...

Alliance, we use the chatroom actually quite often, but sometimes there are just those "off-days" when nobody has the time or takes the time to drop in. However, if you go into the chatroom and just wait in there for a bit while doing other things on your computer and the web (memory permi...

Actually, Spikey, that is the democratic way, if I'm understanding you correctly. Now, I'm not arguing that you are wrong in your criticism of the U....

There will be an announcement on the main page of AGDInteractive.com when they are ready to start beta-testing, most likely in the designer journals. From what I've heard of the beta-testing of KQ2VGA, they'll probably announce that they are accepting "applications" from people who would l...

Hey, this whole fiasco over 'the_hero' reminds me of a funny Penny-Arcade comic strip: it's called The Bad Boys of Punctuation, but I must warn you that it contains strong language, so don't click on the link if you are easily offended.

:rollin

Doesn't it remind you of someone?

Yeah, I didn't have GIMP at the time; either I didn't know about it or I just hadn't bothered to download it yet. I have GIMP now though, but thanks for the suggestion anyways.
